Alliance 4evergreen aims to boost recycling rate for fibre-based packaging by 2030

17 Dec 2020 −

The cross-industry alliance 4evergreen held its official launch event online at the end of November, with the motto "Perfecting circularity with fibre-based packaging".

At the event, it became clear there is interest in fibre-based packaging as an alternative to plastic packaging. The greatest challenges include plastic barriers and the question of when sufficient bio-based solutions will be available as substitutes.

The alliance 4evergreen, which aims "at boosting the contribution of fibre-based packaging to the circular economy across the value chain,” was founded by the European paper industry association Cepi one year ago. It now has 55 members, including paper, board and packaging producers, raw material suppliers, brand owners, retailers, technology suppliers and sorting and secondary raw material operations.
