Corepla fined by Italian competition authority AGCM

23 Nov 2020 −

The Italian competition authority AGCM has fined the Milan-based consortium for plastics recycling Corepla under cartel law.

AGCM imposed a fine of €27m for the abusal of a dominant market position in the recovery of PET packaging. The background to this is an investigation initiated at the end of October 2019 into exclusivity clauses that Corepla had concluded in contracts with the national association of municipalities Anci and with municipalities that collect separated plastic packaging waste.
