The British cartonboard market:
Demand in May rather weak to disappointing

25 May 2018 −

Most EUWID sources tend to paint a picture of rather weak to disappointing demand for cartonboard in the UK.

The reason for this is slower demand from end customers, which was also encountered by British merchants. Another factor for GD cartonboard is that converters have pretty good amounts on stock and are thus able to scale back their ordering activity.

Lead times for GD II cartonboard are frequently three to four weeks long. Sources told EUWID that contract prices are still unchanged.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the British paper and board market. The EUWID Price Watch for May together with the complete report will be published in EUWID Packaging Markets 11/2018.
