The British cartonboard market:
First deals featuring higher prices brokered for GC board

23 Nov 2018 −

A few market players active in the UK’s folding boxboard business had already inked contracts containing higher prices for next year as the middle of November arrived.

A few suppliers reported having wrapped up 30% of their contracts, while others had even signed almost all of their agreements.

Most of these contracts featured price hikes of £40-50/t to take effect on 1 January. A few experts also quoted mark-ups of £30/t or £60/t.

Most market players were still at the negotiating table, though.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the British paper and board market. The EUWID Price Watch for November together with the complete report will be published in EUWID Packaging Markets 24/2018.
