The British cartonboard market:
Mark-up for GC board looks to be delayed until 1 January 2018

24 Nov 2017 −

GC board was still sought-after on the British market in November.

Insiders reported that a few suppliers’ lead times for GC II were still longer than normal at up to 10 weeks. Others quoted six to eight weeks for qualities made in Nordic countries.

Experts suspected that the mark-ups announced for 2018 were spurring what was already good demand right now.

However, sources generally thought that higher prices would take hold at the start of next year, with most market players still discussing the amount.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the British paper and board market. The EUWID Price Watch for November together with the complete report will be published in EUWID Packaging Markets 24/2017.
