The British cartonboard market:
Mounting pressure on prices

23 May 2019 −

The atmosphere on the British cartonboard market was muted in mid-May.

Many folding box manufactures were still finding that business was slow or recording only a minor improvement starting in April and May after a slow first quarter.

Business was often not looking any better for cartonboard suppliers, either. Positive comments were in the minority.

Prices were still coming under much stronger pressure in the UK.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the British paper and board market. The EUWID Price Watch for May together with the complete report will be published in EUWID Packaging Markets 11/2019.
