The British cartonboard market:
No great response to calls for higher GD board prices

11 Sep 2017 −

Most market experts have described the British GD board market as rather quiet in August.

The food sector was performing well. Lead times have not altered in most instances, although they have become a little longer in a few instances, not necessarily because of the market though.

Most buyers were in relaxed mood about a few producers’ announcements that they want to tack on about £40/t for GD board from September onwards.

Experts feel that this push has little chance of success without the market leader being on board. „We have not held any talks up until now,” one converter reports.
