The British corrugated case material market:
Slight slump in demand

22 Mar 2018 −

The decline in demand for containerboard and corrugated sheets and packaging customarily seen at this time of the year is evident on the British market this year too – even despite general growth trends within the industry, most EUWID sources noted.

Experts feel that price hikes currently in progress for corrugated sheets and packaging might also play a role.

End customers might want to create a bit of pressure in order to avoid delay or minimise the mark-ups, sources said.

Nonetheless, at least a few paper suppliers found that their year-to-date paper deliveries were higher than last year in March.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the British paper and board market. The EUWID Price Watch for March together with the complete report will be published in EUWID Packaging Markets 7/2018.
