The British corrugated case material market:
Strong demand drives prices up

26 Feb 2018 −

All types of recycled corrugated case material are more expensive than they were in December.

Converters have had to hand over £50/t more for brown paper since the end of January at the latest. Mark-ups had apparently affected integrated producers first and spread to independent converters later on.

Brown kraftliner is still very scarce and looks set to remain this way since a French mill will soon go offline for maintenance.

Most EUWID contacts quoted a hike of £45-50, with one source mentioning a figure of £40. Higher prices have applied since the start of February, most experts talking to EUWID agreed.
