The British paper and board market:
Brown kraftliner remains exceptionally scarce

30 Aug 2021 −

In the UK brown kraftliner remained exceptionally scarce in August, with exports from the US and Russia being still extremely low to non-existent.

What is more, many machines in Europe will take downtime for maintenance in the coming months, leading market players to tend to expect the already-tense supply situation to become even tighter. Converters are not getting their hands on enough material in some cases and are reportedly paying significant hikes to source material.

According to most EUWID sources, brown kraftliner became more expensive in August, as announced and without much in the way of opposition.
