The British paper and board market:
Cartonboard suppliers announce price hikes and energy surcharges

04 Nov 2021 −

Demand for cartonboard on the British market remains good and continues to outstrip supply.

All the material that is being delivered was allocated in advance. Suppliers of GC (folding boxboard) and GD (white lined chipboard) are already starting to confirm deliveries for the first quarter of 2022.

Because of the tight market, folding carton producers and their customers have now abandoned their specifications and are "printing on everything that is even somewhat suitable,” EUWID was told.

As agreed with customers, prices for GD and GC board rose again in October. Where GC board is sold under annual contracts, however, the established prices still applied in most cases.
