The British recovered paper market:
Prices under pressure up until mid-January

01 Feb 2019 −

Towards the middle of January, recovered paper prices slipped a little in the UK amidst high collection volumes and relatively cool demand.

Old corrugated container prices fell more, principally because Chinese paper manufacturers were hardly buying any material at all, even though Chinese authorities have now issued three batches of import licences covering a total of roughly 5.5 million t of recovered paper.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the British paper and board market. The EUWID Price Watch for January together with the complete report will be published in EUWID Packaging Markets 3/2019.
