The British recycled corrugated case material market:
Prices unchanged in November

06 Dec 2016 −

The British corrugated board industry is running at very good capacity utilisation again in its traditionally strongest quarter of the year.

Sources described the availability of recycled corrugated case material as ample towards the middle of November. Experts reported that two machines in the UK were not running well. Import volumes remain unchanged.

British converters were noting with interest the markdowns for brown recycled corrugated case material on the Continent. Price cuts of this kind are anticipated in the UK, too, albeit not this year, as there was simply not enough time, according to experts. "We are too busy to launch price negotiations at present,” one packaging manufacturer remarked.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the British paper and board market. The EUWID Price Watch for November together with the complete report is published in EUWID Packaging Markets 25/2016.
