The French cartonboard market:
Mixed comments about business in October

06 Nov 2020 −

Demand for cartonboard has been positive in France looking at the year to date.

Despite the pandemic, the GD cartonboard market has so far delivered a few percentage points of growth. The GC cartonboard market is also doing slightly better than last year despite a slump in demand in April and May. Cartonboard consumption had also stomached the effects of the lockdown, although less than the corrugated board sector. Cartonboard manufacturers are now making mixed comments about business in October. Order intake is described as ”quiet” to ”brisker as of late”.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the French paper and board market. The EUWID Price Watch for October together with the complete report will be published in EUWID Packaging Markets 23/2020.
