The French packaging paper market:
Growing price pressure on recycled CCM

03 Dec 2018 −

During November, prices for brown recycled corrugated case material came under pressure in France, with quotes sliding in some cases.

Demand had not picked up as it usually does after the end of the summer holidays, according to respondents.

Furthermore, there has been an inventory build-up since September and stocks are now higher than they were at this time last year.

After one supplier offered price reductions on the French market, competitors felt they were under increasing pressure to make the same concessions.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the French paper and board market. The EUWID Price Watch for November together with the complete report will be published in EUWID Packaging Markets 25/2018.
