French prices of recycled corrugated case material – for brown as well as white grades – remained unchanged in December.
The big unknown on the market in December was whether hikes to prices of corrugated case material would follow in January or February or have finally peaked. In the middle of December, paper producers were as yet unwilling to raise prices except in cases where a part of the December hikes needed to be recovered in January.
Demand was still high for corrugated case material in France in December, EUWID respondents confirmed, but the market nonetheless calmed down a bit.
