The German aluminium packaging market:
Beverage can producers with tight capacities

29 Oct 2020 −

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic was being felt differently in the market for aluminium tubes, beverage and aerosol cans at the end of September.

Producers of beverage cans were experiencing high operating rates, partly due to an extended season and an almost empty supply chain. Meanwhile, the markets for aluminium tubes and aerosol cans were still characterised by overcapacity. The spray deodorant segment remained the problem child in the aerosol can sector. Deliveries of tubes in the pharmaceutical segment were stagnating, while incoming orders for cosmetic tubes were normalising.
