The German aluminium packaging market:
Covid-19 leaves different traces

27 Apr 2020 −

In the market for aluminium packaging, the first effects of the corona crisis mostly did not become apparent until the end of the first quarter.

However, the impact of the pandemic was clearly felt in mid-April. In the beverage sector, the closure of restaurants and catering outlets has fuelled demand for beverage cans. Tube manufacturers have been adversely affected by the lockdown of hairdressing salons, while benefiting from growth in the food retail and pharmaceutical sectors. The aerosol can industry was - irrespectively of Corona - relieved about the resurging demand for deodorant sprays.
