The German aluminium packaging market:
Pandemic triggers excess capacities for aerosol cans

23 Jul 2020 −

The effects of the Covid-19 pandemic were palpable in the market for aluminium packaging at the start of the second half of the year.

For example, aerosol cans for hairsprays and deodorants failed to return to successful business. Manufacturers of aluminium tubes registered dips in the cosmetics and pharmaceuticals sector. The beverage can industry, on the other hand, was optimistic. Although the effects of the crisis were felt in the second quarter, the industry was likely to make up the deliveries lost in the spring in the further course of the year, said EUWID respondents.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's quarterly report on the German aluminium packaging market. The complete report is published in EUWID Packaging Markets 15/2020.
