The German commodity plastics market:
Improved demand amid falling prices in November

30 Nov 2017 −

Demand for standard commodity plastics improved in November compared to the previous month, which was characterized by reticence among converters.

Suppliers interviewed by EUWID say most products are enjoying satisfactory to brisk demand.

Although the price of the upstream product ethylene remained firm, PE grades suffered losses.

In contrast, PP deals followed the unchanged quote of the propylene contract, occasionally with a minimal downward tendency.

The price of PS has dropped significantly again – similarly to the styrene monomer. PVC remained at October levels.
