The German commodity plastics market:
Lower prices amid moderate demand

14 Jan 2019 −

Order levels for standard commodity plastics dwindled by the usual extent in December.

Only polystyrene experienced higher sales thanks to considerably cheaper offers, EUWID was told.

Available volumes and demand were mostly balanced. All products witnessed mark-downs but these decreases were smaller than those observed for the upstream products.

Occasionally there were delivery issues due to the lack of lorry drivers. Water levels on the Rhine were back to normal again.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the German commodity plastics market. The EUWID Price Watch for December together with the complete report were published in EUWID Packaging Markets 1/2019.
