The German commodity plastics market:
Mark-ups in June amid sufficient supply

12 Jul 2018 −

The market for standard commodity plastics was characterised by rising monomer costs in June.

As EUWID discovered, suppliers were striving for considerably greater mark-ups but these had failed to go through as desired.

Instead most polymers emulated the upstream product movements. This applied to the PE grades, PP and PS.

However, suppliers of PVC were not always successful in passing on all of their own cost increase due to the rise in the ethylene price in June.
