The German commodity plastics market:
Massive price increase for PS in September

Following a brisk first half of the month, orders softened a bit for many standard commodity plastics in the third week of September.

However, EUWID’s monthly market survey revealed that the slowdown in orders had done nothing to change forecasts of renewed price hikes in October.

PE and PP quotes increased more than those of the upstream products. PS suppliers passed on the vast rise registered for styrene. PVC witnessed moderate mark-ups.
