The German commodity plastics market:
Minor and pronounced mark-ups in February

08 Mar 2018 −

In February, incoming orders were somewhat sluggish for various standard commodity plastics.

As EUWID discovered, this applied – aside from certain PE grades – above all to PS. Respondents believed this was owed to the pronounced mark-ups.

PP was in good demand, which was partly due to production restrictions.

PVC deliveries were going better than usual for this time of year. PE either saw a continuation of January prices or minor increases.

PP achieved significant mark-ups. The most pronounced hikes were registered for PS. Suppliers of PVC were able to achieve margins on several occasions.
