The German commodity plastics market:
Polyolefins and PVC with constant prices

11 Mar 2019 −

In February, supply and demand was balanced for most standard commodity plastics.

Respondents to EUWID’s monthly market survey mentioned some supply restrictions, but only for polystyrene. Demand was reticent to solid for polyolefins, brisk for PS and seasonally normal for PVC.

The only polymer to rise in price was PS, which grew more expensive after the styrene contract also witnessed a mark-up. In contrast, all PE grades, PP and PVC were – like the respective upstream products – sold at stable prices.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the German commodity plastics market. The EUWID Price Watch for February together with the complete report were published in EUWID Packaging Markets 5/2019.
