The German commodity plastics market:
Polystyrene and PVC prices up in November

04 Dec 2020 −

Demand for standard commodity plastics was surprisingly high in November for the time of year, according to EUWID respondents.

"Quantities and margins are rising for all products. Converters are building up stocks because they are anticipating price hikes in the coming months," said one supplier in late November. The scarce availability of standard commodity plastics was also due to global competition. Observers concluded that Europe was currently developing into a net exporter, because ever larger quantities were being shipped to Asian countries.
