The German commodity plastics market:
Prices continue to rise markedly in April

29 Apr 2019 −

Demand for standard commodity plastics was somewhat sluggish in April thanks to the Easter holidays.

EUWID respondents described the supply of LDPE/LLDPE and PP as "a little limited". The situation was on the whole more balanced for the remaining plastics covered in this report.

All commodities saw price hikes in April. The trend towards ever less film packaging was also very noticeable. Market experts were anticipating further mark-ups for the upstream products ethylene, propylene, and styrene in May.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the German commodity plastics market. The EUWID Price Watch for April together with the complete report are published in EUWID Packaging Markets 9/2019.
