The German commodity plastics market:
Prices yield in most cases in July

09 Aug 2021 −

The market for commodity plastics witnessed several downward price corrections in July, but not all grades were affected.

As a result of the summer holiday season and company holidays, especially in southern European countries, demand for standard thermoplastics was losing momentum while supply seemed to be recovering slightly, albeit not across all resin types. EUWID respondents, however, also attributed the declining propensity to buy to a wait-and-see attitude among converters. "Our customers are watching the situation and only ordering the essentials," said one respondent.
