The German commodity plastics market:
Slight dip in demand for seasonal reasons

06 Aug 2018 −

Demand for standard commodity plastics was a little softer in July for seasonal reasons, but cheaper polystyrene quotes have resulted in a minor upturn in volumes for this resin.

EUWID’s monthly market survey revealed that commodities prices have followed those of upstream products. Accordingly, PE grades have come under pressure, whereas PP prices remained at the level of the previous month. The mark-downs for PS tracked those of the monomer. PVC prices either were the same as in June or a little reduced.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's monthly report on the German commodity plastics market. The EUWID Price Watch for July together with the complete report were published in EUWID Packaging Markets 16/2018.
