The German commodity plastics market:
Suppliers satisfied with December deliveries

11 Jan 2018 −

Producers and merchants were satisfied with order levels for all standard commodity plastics in December.

Admittedly demand did let up – as is customary towards the end of the year – but business had not been bad for this time of year.

The higher upstream product prices could not be passed on in general for PE grades, EUWID was told, and numerous contracts were signed at November terms.

Some volume restrictions for PP made it easer for suppliers to raise prices occasionally. PS followed the pronounced leaps of the monomer, while PVC held steady.
