The German commodity plastics market:
Tight availability amid rising prices in December

In December, the market for standard plastics was characterised by a tight supply situation for all materials.

Limited availability was largely due to plant breakdowns, unscheduled maintenance and force majeure declarations by upstream product suppliers and granulate manufacturers alike. Furthermore, substantial volumes were being shipped to Asia, because the price level there was reportedly much more attractive.
