The German envelope and shipping bag paper market:
Prices go up again on short supply and good demand

11 Oct 2021 −

There was little trace of a summer lull in business this year on the German market for envelope and shipping bag paper.

Most producers surveyed by EUWID reported brisk business. Some converters said they were "in trouble” because they could not accept orders due to paper shortage. However, other respondents spoke of a noticeable slowdown in order inflow for recycled envelope and shipping bag paper in the third quarter.

As far as prices are concerned, there is seemingly just one direction in which they can move as in many other segments, that is, up. Prices of white woodfree envelope paper were hiked on 1 July and producers have demanded a similar increase from October. Hikes to prices of recycled envelope and shipping bag paper are even more pronounced.
