The German envelope and shipping bag paper market:
Prices under pressure amidst weak demand

19 Oct 2020 −

The segment for envelope and shipping-bag paper in Germany was still corona-stricken as the third quarter of 2020 came to a close.

The situation did not see any real improvement in the third quarter after virtually imploding in the second. "There are simply not enough orders,” a EUWID respondent says. Machine loads could not be raised even after several weeks of short working. Delivery periods are reported at two weeks, for which orders even need to be collected. Pressure on paper prices has markedly increased as a result.
