The German pallet market:
Perceptible reduction in prices for standard pallets

25 Mar 2019 −

The already rather slack demand noticeable for standard pallets at the start of the year has persisted so far this year, even becoming a little more pronounced in some places.

The uncertainty about the future development in the levels of domestic as well as export business activity has evidently induced pallet buyers to exercise greater caution in their pallet-purchasing arrangements, too.

At a simultaneously largely steady level of production activity, manufacturers of standard pallets have been registering growing competition since December last year. Prices are under pressure for major volumes and a big manufacturer’s special offers of well under €8/unit are only increasing this pressure.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's report on the German pallet market, published every six weeks. The complete article together with the Price Watch for March were published in EUWID Packaging Markets 6/2019.
