The German PET market:
Prices rise in January and February amid brisk demand

22 Feb 2018 −

Demand for PET in Germany is brisk for the time of year.

At the beginning of February, the available volumes in Europe were a little limited. This was exacerbated by a lack of Asian imports. Converters are therefore concerned there may be shortfalls once the beverage season has started.

Prices headed north both in January and February, in line with upstream product quotes.

Suppliers of preforms and bottles witnessed a brisk start to business in 2018, but passing on the mark-ups remained a challenge nonetheless.
