The German PET market:
Prices under growing pressure as demand slows

27 Jun 2019 −

Demand for PET was weaker in the months of April and May than in the prior-year months and this trend continued into the first days of June.

Individual respondents estimate overall demand to have yielded by 2% from January to May. This had resulted in good availability of primary PET and consequently softer prices.

Market participants report mark-downs for the months of April/May.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's report on the German PET market. The EUWID Price Watch PET for May together with the complete report were published in EUWID Packaging Markets 19/2019.
