The German plastic packaging market:
Demand for cosmetic tubes recovers

21 Dec 2020 −

At the time this report was compiled in mid-December, the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic were still being felt in the rigid plastic packaging market.

Demand for plastic containers from restaurants, hotels and the gastronomy sector failed to bounce back in the second half of the year. In addition, the delivery channel was lacking festivals, major events and Christmas markets. According to respondents, however, the development of containers for food retailers and industry had normalised. In the plastic tube sector, the manufacturers surveyed by EUWID witnessed a recovery in demand for cosmetic tubes. Tubes for disinfectant gels and hand cream, on the other hand, hardly played a role.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's report on the German plastic packaging market. The complete report is published in EUWID Packaging Markets 26/2020.
