The German plastic packaging market:
Rising raw material and energy costs drive up prices

15 Nov 2021 −

Manufacturers of plastic tubes drew a positive conclusion for the past nine months when speaking to EUWID at the end of October.

In particular, demand for tubes for the cosmetics, toothpaste and pet food sectors had developed positively. Deliveries in the pharmaceutical sector, however, remained below expectations. According to industry experts, the development of plastic containers has levelled off at pre-crisis levels.

All EUWID respondents were critical of the increase in raw material and energy costs, as a result of which the prices for plastic tubes and containers had to be raised.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's report on the German plastic packaging market. The complete article will be published in EUWID Packaging Markets 23/2021.
