The German plastic packaging market:
Stable deliveries for many segments in first half year

Suppliers of films and pouches report stable development of volumes for the first six months of this year.

The situation was similar in the segment for food packaging made of plastic. Developments differed markedly in the segment for caps.

Suppliers of plastic tubes said business on the German market in the first half of 2019 had been characterized by “stagnation and the sustainability debate.”

The topics of recyclability and sustainability have gained traction across all segments.
