The German recycled corrugated case material market:
Producers welcome signs of slowing business

15 May 2018 −

Some market participants say there has been a sudden calming of the German market for recycled corrugated case material since the middle of March, prompted by slowing order intake in the corrugated industry.

It seems that the decline in order intake is more pronounced in the north than in the south of the country, according to several respondents.

However, recycled containerboard manufacturers actually benefit from this situation because they can now reduce overtime and carry out necessary work on their machines.

When surveyed at the end of April and beginning of May, no EUWID respondents expressed any worries about a general weakening of the market.
