The German steel sheet packaging market:
Automotive crisis having a marked impact

07 Oct 2019 −

Steel sheet packaging suppliers in Germany partly faced a sharp plunge in their sales volumes during the second quarter after a strong start to the year with a good first quarter.

Drum producers feel that this situation is mainly rooted in global crisis facing the automobile industry, which is sending demand for drums lower at the end of the supply chain, too.

In addition to weak demand, falling upstream material costs are making it hard for packaging producers to keep their prices stable.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's report on the German steel sheet packaging market, published twice a year. The complete article will be published in EUWID Packaging Markets 21/2019.
