Volumes declined for suppliers in 2019

For suppliers of steel sheet packaging, the drop in demand in the second half of 2019 had a negative impact on volumes for the overall year.

In contrast, the current year started well, although steel drum manufacturers expressed some doubt over just how sustainable the increased demand was. Some producers were planning slight price increases as of 1 April. These were designed to compensate for rising costs outside the upstream material.
