The German tinplate packaging market:
April fell short of expectations for many suppliers

13 Jun 2017 −

Following three largely positive months, numerous tinplate packaging and cap suppliers said April had been far below expectations.

A possible explanation might be advance purchases of customers ahead of April 1, i.e. the date when numerous suppliers passed on the rising tinplate quotes dating back to the beginning of the year.

According to market players, individual packaging and cap suppliers will be facing further tinplate price hikes as of July 1.
