The German tinplate packaging market:
Good operating rates in many industry segments

Whereas the summer started early in April last year with an unforeseen impact on individual segments, the second quarter developments in the market for packaging and caps made of tinplate so far largely correspond with expectations.

However, passing on the price hikes for tinplate announced at the beginning of the year has been running contrary to expectations or rather hopes.

The news of the failure of the merger of thyssenkrupp and Tata took the industry by complete surprise.
