The German tinplate packaging market:
Limited supply of upstream material causes concern

25 Feb 2021 −

Manufacturers of tinplate packaging and closures are facing a dramatic shortage in the supply of the upstream material in the first quarter of 2021.

"We are living hand-to-mouth and juggling our tinplate stocks back and forth between the individual plants," said the representative of a major packaging producer. The chance of getting additional tinplate in addition to the contracted volumes is "zero," according to market sources. Delivery times for some specifications reportedly increased significantly, occasionally by several weeks.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's quarterly report on the German tinplate packaging market. The full article has been be published in EUWID Packaging Markets 4/2021.
