The German tinplate packaging market:
Price stability for the first time in years

02 Mar 2020 −

After years of rising tinplate prices, producers of packaging and caps negotiated largely stable prices for the upstream material with their suppliers at the beginning of 2020.

In the individual market segments, volumes in 2019 were in some cases unchanged at the previous year's level or slightly lower, e.g. for aerosol cans and chemical technical packaging. Manufacturers of food cans and crown caps, however, enjoyed increased deliveries.

Many segments report good order levels in the first quarter of 2020.
