The German tinplate packaging market:
Producers facing markedly higher prices in 2017

21 Dec 2016 −

Suppliers of packaging and caps made of tinplate are facing surprisingly steep tinplate price hikes as of 1 January 2017.

It was already rather clear in the last EUWID research undertaken in October that quotes would rise. Back then the industry was however anticipating mark-ups of about 5%. But meanwhile European tinplate manufacturers are demanding an additional 12-15%, according to reports.

All in the packaging industry agree that the increased tinplate prices are to be passed on in full.

This is an excerpt from EUWID's quarterly report on the German tinplate packaging market. The full article is published in EUWID Packaging Markets 26/2016.
