The German tinplate packaging market:
Some segments still booming as a result of Covid-19

20 Aug 2020 −

At the beginning of August, individual market segments were still booming due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Manufacturers of cans for DIY applications, for example, continued to benefit. Demand for cans for soups and ready meals also remained good, possibly because many consumers were still working from home or were sceptical about restaurant visits. However, working from home and the week-long lockdown can also have a negative effect. Suppliers of aerosol cans, for example, reported dips in the cosmetics, hair and body care segments. Meanwhile, producers of crown caps were hoping for rising temperatures throughout Germany.
