Fillings of aerosol cans in Germany largely on a par with the previous year

09 Aug 2018 −

In 2017, fillings of aerosol cans in Germany were largely stable compared to the previous year.

According to Industrie-Gemeinschaft Aerosole e. V. (IGA) a total of 1.294bn aerosol cans were filled last year – that is 0.2% less than in 2016. However, the various product categories developed along very different lines. While cosmetic aerosols registered overall growth, fillings of household aerosols dipped considerably.

The fact that the production figures of 2017 are about the same as the previous year is owed to the 2.9% growth of cosmetic aerosols, which is the largest market segment. Here fillings amounted to about 885m cans. The largest gains were registered for deodorants/antiperspirants at 12.8% as well as the remaining cosmetic aerosols that grew by 14.5% compared to 2016.
