Rising transport costs could stifle the packaging industry’s growth

The development of freight costs and logistical capacities was an important topic of conversation with the packaging industry in 2018.

The industry representatives for the segments of cardboard, plastic and metal interviewed by EUWID in December were critical in their assessment of last year’s overall situation regarding transport and freight capacities. And this development might continue along similar lines in 2019, said market experts.

All interviewed market experts from the packaging industry agreed that transport costs would rise further in 2019.
